They build strength and suppleness in the body, promote detoxification, and reduce stress. Students generally feel results after the first class. Kevin teaches his students how to practice with grace, patience and awareness so that students remain safe and have fun while challenging themselves at their own level. He specializes in giving new students an informative and comfortable place to begin mastery of yoga. YRG "Yoga for Regular Guys/Gals.” YRG combines some traditional yoga positions with old-school calisthenics, core strengthening exercises and slow motion isometric muscle activation... called dynamic resistance. The result is a workout that increases strength, endurance, flexibility, and mental clarity ... and also reduces stress. It can even help you strengthen and rehabilitate abused joints, burn fat and increase your cardiovascular capacity! YRG will get you in the fat burning zone standing still.. no impact... high cardio! Meet Your Instructors Kevin Flanigan, LMBT- Yoga Kevin began practicing ashtanga vinyasa yoga over 8 years ago and was certified to teach in 2001. He has studied with some of America's best teachers including Doug and David Swenson, Paul Grilley, Baba Hari Das and Srivatsa Ramaswami. Kevin discovered that yoga helps us reach our fullest potential. Lessons learned on the mat transfer to our daily lives, reducing the obstacles that used to block our growth. Just as gold is purified by fire, so we are purified by consistent practice. Kevin is also a licensed massage and bodywork therapist as well as a certified Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. Kevin studied massage at East West College of the Healing Arts, taking the 800 hour program specializing in Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage and Thai Yoga Massage. He was also certified as a Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner with Saul David Raye, one of the leading teachers of yoga and Thai Yoga Massage in the western hemisphere. Diane Douglass- YRG Diane started doing YRG in March of 2008. By June, she had lost 17 lbs and 18"s. She is featured in the YRG infomercial and new workout DVD's scheduled to be released in January 2009.
